Overview

I conducted a mixed-methods study combining diary studies and contextual interviews to understand how people use their phones during moments of stress, boredom, and self-regulation, then translated those findings into design requirements for digital wellbeing interventions.

What I did

  • Analyzed diary study data from 9 participants and contextual interviews with 5 participants.

  • Synthesized recurring behavioral patterns through affinity diagramming and interpretation sessions.

  • Developed regulation profiles and translated findings into prioritized design requirements.
